Yu et al. (2025) demonstrated that an andrographolide (Andr)-loaded atrial patch effectively prevents postoperative atrial fibrillation (POAF) by reducing inflammation, oxidative stress, and calcium dysregulation. In a rat model, this approach decreased the incidence of AF from 90% to 20% and protected cardiomyocytes, highlighting its potential as a targeted therapy for POAF.

The optical mapping system (OMS-PCIE-2002) was employed to record action potentials and calcium transients. The corresponding isochronal maps were analyzed using OMapScope to extract key electrophysiological parameters, including conduction time (CT), conduction velocity (CV), action potential duration (APD), and calcium transient duration (CTD).

Cai et al. (2025) developed a human engineered heart tissue model that mimics lipotoxic diabetic cardiomyopathy and demonstrated that empagliflozin protects cardiomyocytes by mitigating mitochondrial damage, endoplasmic reticulum stress, and apoptosis.

The optical mapping system (OMS-PCIE-2002) was used to record calcium transients, and the resulting isochronal maps were analyzed using OMapScope to quantify key electrophysiological parameters, including conduction velocity, signal amplitude, and maximum upstroke velocity.
