We are pleased to announce the installation of our latest optical mapping system in the Frankel Cardiovascular Center Cell Regeneration Core of the University of Michigan directed by Dr. Andre Monteiro da Rocha. The FCVC Cell Regeneration Core has been active since 2016 and elected update their park of equipment with a new  MappingLab optical mapping system. The FCVC Cell Regeneration Core will employ the system in high-resolution (temporal and positional)  measurement of action potentials and calcium transients of hiPSC-derived cardiomyocyte and skeletal muscle monolayers, and engineered tissue. This platform enables the study of complex multicellular phenomena such as conduction, reentry, and long-term remodeling with a New Approach Methodology (NAM). The MappingLab optical mapping system will aid to bridge the gap between single-cell and whole-organ studies, advancing genetic and acquired cardiac disease modeling, arrhythmia mechanisms, preclinical drug testing and cardiotoxicity screening.
