Synergistic Recovery of Cardiac Electrophysiological and Diastolic-Systolic Functions.Nonconductive fibrotic tissue was insensitive to electrical stimulation and propagation, leading to ventricular electrophysiological dysfunction. The hearts of the MI and MEHP groups were subjected to apical electrical stimulation and fluorescently tagged for action potential (AP) and calcium transient (CT). Heat maps of electrical activation times were plotted to observe electrical signal propagation in healthy and infarct regions.

Evaluation of cardiac functions after various treatments for 4 weeks. (a) Isolated perfused hearts in the MI and MEHP groups were perfused with fluorescent dyes of AP and electrically stimulated at the apex. A high-speed camera captured the fluorescence signal change and intensity to plot the activation time heat map of the electrical signal propagation in the LV and RV. (b) Relative fluorescence intensity of AP in the MI area and healthy area. (c) Rise time from resting potential to the peak. (d) APD90 from repolarization of AP to 90%. (e) Heat map analysis of the dispersion of activation time evaluating the unevenness of conduction velocity. (f) Representative ECGs for rats in different treatments after 28 days. (g) QRS interval duration.
