The electrical mapping was performed on the isolated Langendorff-perfused rat hearts after the patches were implanted onto the infarcted hearts for 4 weeks.
These results provide evidence that the conductive and elastic cardiac patches were beneficial for the electrical integration and excitation propagation of the infarcted heart.

f,Representative epicardial activation maps located on the border between the non-infarcted myocardium and infarcted myocardium. The earliest (red) and latest (blue) activation is marked, and the numbers on the heat-map scale indicate the activation times (ms). IR, infarcted region.
g, Schematic of the epicardial activation mapping. The electrode was placed onto the border between the non-infarcted myocardium and infarcted myocardium, and the activation point (pulse sign) was on the epicardium right under the left heart ear. The dark lines indicate the border of the non-infarcted and the infarcted myocardium.
