From our previous blog post, we discussed “the physiological significance of optical mapping” in cardiac electrophysiology. In this post, we are presenting an exciting video which demonstrates exactly how Optical Mapping System works. In essence, optical mapping uses high-speed fluorescence-based imaging with various probes for transmembrane potential (Vm), intracellular calcium transient, and other critical physiological parameters. Lastly but not least, optical mapping system can simply work together with electrical mapping system (with multiple electrode arrays) to harness the full potential of mapping technology in cardiac electrophysiology. We will discuss more in our future post.
