Isolated (Ex Vivo) Heart

The ex vivo whole-heart model retains the complete myocardial tissue structure, electrical conduction network, and excitation–contraction coupling system. It can faithfully simulate the in vivo physiological functions of the heart, compensate for the lack of tissue microenvironment in single-cell models, and serve as a key model for cardiac physiological and pathological mechanism research and preclinical translation. It can be used in research on myocardial infarction, arrhythmia, heart failure, and other diseases to clarify the mechanisms underlying electrical signal abnormalities, calcium homeostasis imbalance, and functional impairment. Meanwhile, it is applied to the cardiac safety evaluation of drugs, screening of anti-arrhythmic drugs, and efficacy evaluation of regenerative therapies such as stem cell transplantation.

In the Mapping Lab mapping system, this model can simultaneously collect electrical activity, calcium transients, and contractile function signals via optical mapping and electrical mapping, accurately characterize key indicators, and distinguish normal from pathological regions. Combined with optoelectrical hybrid detection, it can systematically evaluate changes in excitation–contraction coupling, provide high-dimensional and quantitative data support for relevant research and translation, and serve as an important platform connecting basic research and clinical application.
